Meet Kya Pruitt

Hi, my name is Kya Pruitt! This past August, I graduated from high school after my junior year and moved to Indianapolis from Chicago. I'm excited to be interning at the Harrison Center, where I'm eager to learn more about video production, improve my editing skills, and build my portfolio with the experience I'm gaining throughout this internship.

I've always had a passion for creating art, whether painting or making stop-motion videos with my dolls as a kid, but my heart truly lies with film. I love how film can bring people together, amplify the voices of unique experiences, and evoke deep emotion. It is fascinating how different types of artists collaborate to create something cohesive and powerful.

In the future, I plan to study film production and design at Emerson College, where I can continue exploring the creative process and improve my craft. I want to create films that connect communities and emphasize the importance of art in our society.
