Meet Mallory Kornelis
Hello, Harrison Center community and friends! My name is Mallory Kornelis. I am the newest staff member at the Harrison Center. I would guess that I am a new face for most people, but some might recognize me from when I was one of the first Harrison Center interns back in 2009. Much has changed at HC since I was here. The office is no longer the size of a closet and HC has grown both in physical space as well as activity, with interns streaming in and out of the office, doing a multitude of projects from administrative work to stop motion projects. It is exciting to be back in a place that felt like a sort of home to me, but also to see that it has continued to grow and change.
In my position as the Development and Administrative Assistant, I will be working closely with both the Executive Director and Fundraising Consultant on donor stewardship, grant management, daily operations, volunteer programs, and vendor fairs.
I am originally from Indianapolis. I attended and graduated from Covenant College with a BA in Community Development. After my internship with the Harrison Center, my family and I lived and traveled all over the country and the world. Our longest stints were in Vienna, Austria, and in Minnesota, with our most recent being just outside of Yellowstone in Cody, WY. While we enjoy traveling and have enjoyed all the places we lived, we are now happy to return to our roots. My husband and I have three wonderful, lively, independent, curious children, ages 11, 9, and 3.
I am grateful to be part of the Harrison Center once again. In all of our travels, we did not find anything quite like the Harrison Center, where both art and community engagement intersect. It is truly a unique and special place. I am looking forward to getting to know you all and, for some, to be reacquainted once again.
