Bienvenido Tamar!
It is our great pleasure to introduce the newest member of the Harrison Center Team: Tamar de la PazGaleano. Tamar, (pronounced Tah-mar) comes to us from the beautiful city of Seville in southern Spain. She will work with the Harrison Center as an intern for the next year to provide support in events management, exhibit design and marketing. Tamar has a degree in interior design from the University of Seville with experience in display and retail merchandising. She discovered the Harrison Center last summer while visiting her brother who lives with his family in Avon.
She loves the arts and decided that working for the Harrison Center would be a fine way for her to build office skills and to learn about American culture. Tamar contacted Joanna Taft and the two of them developed the concept for Tamar’s one year internship. The Harrison Center served as sponsor for Tamar’s work visa application through the Spanish Consulate. This is a new experience for us and has potential to open new opportunities for cultural growth and exchange in the future. We look forward to Tamar’s contributions over the coming year and we hope you will have a chance to stop by and say “Buenos Dias” to our new friend - however she would prefer it if you said “Hello” or “Hi” or Howyadoin’?” as she is eager to practice speaking English.
