Social Distance Internships! Update #1
The Harrison Center can’t do what we do without our amazing interns! Whether they’re creating original music and videos, planning events, or helping us with creative placemaking projects, they bring so many skills to the team. So, we’ve been so grateful many of them have been able to complete their internships remotely until we can come back to the office. We’ll be sure to update you on what they are working on! First up: music & video interns!
Josie Aalsma, Music Intern
“I have been working on a social distancing song about being able to come together as neighbors even without the physical connection. This song is going to try and encourage communities to stick together and be together on their porches, knowing they are still together in heart and never alone!”

Sam Wilson, Video Intern
“I have been working with the Harrison center’s drone, learning how to use it and how it works. I’ve flown it a little around the Harrison Center and got some cool pictures of downtown.”
Avery McGuire, Music Intern
“In this new weird time that has been brought to us I’ve been staying creative by making music and going out into nature as safely as possible. The Harrison Center has helped me stay creative with projects to keep my musical energy going and also even more positive ideas from their social media accounts. I’m hoping everyone is staying safe and are also finding ways to maintain a new normal!”

Andre Jefferson, Video Intern
“As a video intern, it can be hard to do everything from home, though I’ve managed to keep away from people by going to parks and sticking around my neighborhood to film. Moriah Miller and Joanna Taft have been doing a wonderful job at keeping me busy, whether that’s having me make videos about how to wash your hands correctly, or giving me creative freedom to do a fun video project for social media!”
