Welcoming Makayla
Hello, my name is Makayla Prible and I am a new intern at the Harrison Center. I have known about the Harrison Center ever since I was a kid through attending First Fridays and attending The Oaks Academy and Herron High School. I previously completed a semester internship at the Harrison Center my sophomore year. But, this is my first time as a video intern. So, I’m very excited to be a part of the Harrison Center in a new way.
I have always enjoyed all forms of art, whether that be paintings, music, movies, etc. Walking through the Harrison Center galleries earlier this week inspired me and made me feel excited to be interning in such a creative and artistic environment. Carolyn Springer’s Monkshood, the stainglassed window that fill the Harrison Center with light, and Lorie Lee Andrew’s work are three of my favorite art pieces and spaces in the building. Below is a brief video I put together showcasing those three pieces that inspire me to find beauty in unlikely places.
I am very excited to be a part of the Harrison Center community in this way. Videography and film have always been topics of interest to me, as well as something that makes me feel inspired. Through interning at the Harrison Center I hope to gain knowledge and experience in video production and be able to experiment with creating art.
