Meet Lexi!
Hi! I’m Lexi Harford, and I’m an intern at the Harrison Center!
I have lived in central Indiana and the Indianapolis area for my entire life, but the Harrison Center is a new found love of mine. The Harrison Center was introduced to me by my drawing professor on a field trip for class and I instantly knew I wanted to be a part of the amazing community here. I’m currently a rising junior Art + Design/Art History major at Butler University and my dream is to be able to work with art in any way that I can. Whether it’s creating my own art or working with someone else’s and I’d love to work in a museum or gallery setting as a curator some day.
Art has always been a passion of mine. Since I was a young child I’ve loved drawing and painting, and during my time at the Harrison Center I’ve been able to further my skills as a digital artist and graphic designer as well as work on a variety of other projects. I’ve gotten to create graphics about Nordic concepts of open-air living called friluftsliv for our Porch Party Indy initiative as well as make Porch Party candles for the winter months, and I’ve even been able to try my hand at animation and make some super fun videos and graphics for the Independent Music and Art Festival. It’s been amazing so far to be able to dip my toes into the art community and to be around other creatives in Indianapolis, I’ve met some incredible people and have been presented many opportunities to get involved in the art community as an artist, as well as opportunities to see the behind the scenes work that I hope to be a part of someday. I’ve loved being able to intern at the Harrison Center, and I can’t wait to see where the rest of my time here takes me!
