Kaleidoscope
Imagination led Benaiah Cusack to explore using new mediums, tools, and techniques for his show Kaleidoscope, currently showing through August in the Gallery Annex.
Hear what the artist has to say about this exhibition:
The kaleidoscope evokes the magical wonder of escaping into your imagination. Looking through the kaleidoscope, twisting the dial, floating bits of colored glass reflect against mirrors and light as you discover the beauty of ever-changing patterns and colors.
That visual sparked my imagination as I changed how I created my work by exploring new mediums, techniques, and tools. From an artist’s perspective, maybe we are kaleidoscopes with broken bits of colored glass inside us, which represent our hopes, dreams, and fears as we seek clarity of light to radiate our creations into the world.
My show is an invitation for you to travel into these kaleidoscope-inspired worlds with me.
See Kaleidoscope in the Harrison Center’s Gallery Annex through August 25th and on our online gallery through September 29th. All pieces are available for purchase online and in person.
