Savor

Art has a way of urging us to pause, observe, and savor the small, often overlooked details that make life extraordinary. This November, the Speck Gallery at the Harrison Center presents Savor, a multimedia exhibition by Jeremie Riggleman that celebrates the tactile, auditory, and visual textures of the everyday. Through wood sculptures, darkroom prints, bark readymades, and polychromed ceramic paintings, this show invites viewers into a mindful exploration of life’s quiet moments—the feel of bark against the hand, the sound of a bird's call, or the fleeting form of a snowdrift.

The exhibition marks a significant departure for the artist, who previously worked with resin, plastic, and glossy, vibrant surfaces. That earlier process, though visually striking, proved taxing on both his body and the environment. Inspired by his students and his role as a professor, he began to reconsider the impact and intention of his art-making. This shift led him to lean into materials and methods that feel more natural and aligned with who he is as a person. The result is a collection of works that embrace imperfection and celebrate organic textures, offering a deeper, more sustainable approach to creative expression.

Savor is not just about the finished pieces; it's about the journey—the process of slowing down, connecting with materials, and rediscovering the beauty in the ordinary. This November, the Speck Gallery invites you to step into this meditative space and rediscover the art of savoring life's simple wonders.

Savor can be viewed anytime in Speck Gallery through November during Gallery Hours: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The works can also be viewed and purchased on our online gallery through December.
