Welcome, Katie!
Hey! My name is Katie Ito, and I’m a first-time summer intern at the Harrison Center. Currently, I’m studying art therapy and liturgical art as a rising senior at Taylor University in Upland, IN. My favorite mediums to work with are clay and watercolor!
This summer, I’ll focus on helping people use visual and communal art-making to discover and explore their own story and invite others into it. COVID has changed how the world thinks about space, community, isolation, mental health, and language. I love how the Harrison Center cultivates change in the surrounding neighborhood through relationships, commensality, and art. I hope to join with The Harrison Center’s mission to help people use art and food as a pathway to healing in this post-COVID environment.
