June 2018: Points of Reference

Party Time3 copy.jpg

Friday, June 1 is First Friday at the Harrison Center, presenting “Points of Reference” with an artist reception from 6 to 9pm. The Harrison Gallery showcases Jerry Points’ abstracted landscapes in “The Gathering.” Points’s creative use of color was influenced by his teaching at the University of Evansville and his attention to design from his 25 years of work in graphic design.

In Speck Gallery, building on last year’s Lake Isle of Innisfree exhibit and performance, the Harrison Center and Indianapolis Choral Artisans present Come to the Woods, a collaborative exhibit featuring readings, visual art and choral music inspired by the writings of the famed Scottish-American naturalist and conservationist John Muir.

Harrison Center studio artist Kate Oberreich creates place-based art that celebrates our urban neighborhoods for the City Gallery in the exhibit, Greetings from Indianapolis.

The Gallery Annex features work by Marianne Glick, Jenny Elkins, Lynn McDonald and Abi Ogle.

Hank & Dolly’s Gallery features Beneath Our Feet, by multimedia artist Sofiya Inger.

Don't miss swing dancing in the gym with Naptown Stomp!

The work hangs through June 29.
