In the Harrison Gallery and Annex,
Olly Olly, In Come Free! by Kyle Ragsdale. His new exhibit is filled with joy and hope, contrasting the innocence of youth in wild natural spaces. Specifically, kids that have grown up on Ragsdale’s block in Fountain Square. Harkening back to Ragsdale’s 2017 exhibit “Other People’s Children,” these are the same kids, but they have grown up. These canvases feature a thicker layered texture, using combs, knives, and trowels to create various abstract patterns and textures that distill into the paintings’ images. Spectacular golden light brings the images into focus.
In the City Gallery,
Where We Find Joy by Sarah Anderson. This collection of ceramic work illustrates narratives of gestural characters depicted on the surface of porcelain clay through the process of sgraffito. These characters live in scenes the artist created to experience where she has felt joy, creating frozen moments in time of interaction with each other and the viewer.
In the Speck Gallery,
Christ-Like by Israel Solomon. Solomon's art has reached new heights with the recent award of the FJA grant from St. Paul's Indy. With the funding, he has created a body of work that tells the powerful and moving story of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection. Through his distinct style of geometric acrylic paintings, he has related the story to modern events and individuals who, due to their unfortunate fates, became martyr-like figures themselves.
In the Hank & Dolly’s Gallery,
Last Time in the Basement by Gary Gee. The artist's latest work examines the often-overlooked world of basements, uncovering the hidden stories that make them an integral part of our culture. By using ceramics, Gee hopes to offer viewers a unique and thought-provoking perspective on the significance of basements in our lives.
In the Underground Gallery,
Indiana Plein Air Painters Association, a juried Member group exhibit. Step inside and discover stunning landscapes and captivating outdoor paintings from all over Indiana and beyond.
In the Lift Gallery,
The Love of Our Fate by Lorie Lee Andrews. In honor of Alzheimer's Awareness Month, Andrews has created a body of work including forty pieces of mixed media art that explores the joy and pain of caring for a parent with Alzheimer's. A portion of the proceeds from each sale in this show will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association of Indiana.
In the Sky Gallery,
Radiant by Beth Guipe Hall. All natural light comes from the sun– the ball of energy existing in the heavens above. Hall’s bright color choices and references to circles are meditations on creative energy. The artwork in this show mimics light in a multitude of ways, including the wax medium, which creates a reflection on the finished product.
All shows will open at 6 pm on Friday, November 3rd.
In-person gallery tours will open for visitors Monday-Friday from 9 am - 5 pm. Online galleries will open on November 4th. Make an appointment or view the online galleries at harrisoncenter.org/buy-art.
Special Senior Hours are every Friday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. No appointment is needed.

About the Harrison Center
