On March 1st, join us for First Friday! Enjoy these openings:

In the Harrison Gallery,

(re)current by Kate Oberreich. Oberreich’s latest collection of mixed-media works featuring recycled materials explores themes and narratives associated with the concept of finding home and community, both literally and figuratively.

In the Gallery Annex,

Still Life* by Gigi Salij. This exhibit honors the venerable tradition of still-life painting, re-imagined as pop art.

In the City Gallery,

wINDows by Jessica Green. Uniting the genres of still life and cityscape, Green uses her distinct style of modern-impressionistic oil paintings to highlight life in Indianapolis.

In the Speck Gallery,

Pieces of Me by Shaunt'e Lewis. Mixed media and digital illustration work together to portray a journey where unexpected self-portraits reveal Lewis’ artistic expression. She welcomes viewers to explore her unique perspective, hoping each piece resonates and sparks an intimate connection.

In the Hank & Dolly’s Gallery,

The Way I See by Mandie Anderson. This series of portraits based on young people living with disabilities calls the viewer to immerse themselves in the lives and experiences of others, to understand their hopes and dreams, and how they engage with the world. Each painting is fully accessible, created with layers of texture, paint, and paper. Viewers are invited to touch the artwork and explore beyond their sense of sight.

In the Underground Gallery,

Lunaris, a group exhibition. Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the Solar Eclipse through a diverse range of mediums, including sculptures by Henry Dean, mixed-media collages using antique materials, printmaking, and photography by Kipp Normand, and a collection of moon jars from various local artists. This exhibition captures the essence of this rare celestial phenomenon when the moon passes between the sun and Earth.

All shows will open at 6 pm on Friday, March 1st.
