Woman's Place, Sacred Space: Merriment, Make Believe, Memory, Mourning by Allison Ford Through the month of October the Harrison Gallery will feature artist Allison Ford’s work titled, Woman’s Place, Sacred Space: Merriment, Make Believe, Memory, Mourning. The show uses installation art, sculpture, and dyed fabrics to honor work that has historically been attributed to women and traditions of Ford’s family history. The show can be viewed anytime during the month of October during Gallery Hours: Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The works can additionally be viewed on our online gallery through November. Deep Currents: A Short Film Be our guest and attend the premiere of Deep Currents at the Walker Theater on Wednesday, October 11 at 7pm. This FREE event premiere's Seaux Chill's Joyce Award project. The program includes a short film by Seaux Chill & David McKissic and a panel discussion with BLACK: A Festival Of Joy Committee.  In 2022, the Harrison Center and Nabil Ince/Seaux Chill received the Joyce Award for an 18 month music residency. His completed songs and video amplify stories from historically Black neighborhoods in Indianapolis, harnessing multimedia art to combat cultural erasure and gentrification. Online Gallery Belmont University Recognizes Harrison Center with Award We're excited to announce that the Harrison Center received the Hope Award last week from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. The award recognized the Harrison Center as using creativity and innovation to help our community thrive.  The awards ceremony was at the Country Music Hall of Fame as part of Belmont's second annual Hope Summit. The goal of the Summit is to equip and empower initiatives of hope in the world.  Saylor’s Allegory, Secundum Artem by Tyler Meuninck Through the month of October the Harrison Center will be featuring Tyler Meuninck’s drawings titled Saylor’s Allegory, Secundum Artem. These works explore Meuninck’s relationship to the landscape of Lake Michigan, memory, and the unknown through imagined scenes of nautical life. The show will be up in the Gallery Annex.
