William "Bill" A. Rasdell Memorial Studio |
Bill was a digital artist and photographer who holds a special place in our community’s history as the very first artist to have a studio at the Harrison Center. He leaves behind a legacy of using photography to tell complex stories.
To honor him, the Harrison Center has named Studio #30, the studio where he spent many years creating art, the William "Bill" A. Rasdell Memorial Studio.
The studio naming was made possible thanks to Bill and Marcia Rasdell's nieces, Latrice Clark of Austin, Texas, and Sharae Crockrom of Aurora, Ohio.
This gift from Clark and Crockrom, along with a generous gift from Harrison Center board member Trent Cowles, has established the William "Bill" A. Rasdell Memorial Fund to support artists of color at all stages of their professional careers. |

| Visit the Harrison Center at the State Fair |
Visit the Fair, take a break from the heat and sit in the air-conditioned gallery to view Greatriarch portraits paired with augmented reality experiences, watch Greatriarch-related videos and buy Greatriarch "merch" to support their field trips. The exhibit is located in the Indiana Arts Building on the 3rd floor. Each day will also feature artists painting live, including Kenny Mason, Tashema Davis, and Cierra Johnson.
On August 8th at 2pm, cheer the Greatriarchs on in their first ever State Fair parade appearance. On both August 8th and 15th, enjoy Storytelling Drawing Session in the exhibit space at 1:30pm.
We are so grateful for our partnerships with the Indiana State Fair, Ratio, MIBOR and the National Bank of Indianapolis for helping us serve our neighbors. |

Support Public Art in Martindale-Brightwood |
We are thrilled to announce that we have chosen local artist Shamira Wilson to create a mural (one of three public art pieces) on the Polk Stables building.
But we still need your help to make this a reality! If we raise $50,000 by September 14th, the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority will provide a matching grant of $50,000, but ONLY if we meet our goal. Your donation can create a lasting impact. Give now and make a difference!
