Meet the Bloombox Festival 2024 Interns!

Join us in welcoming the Bloombox Festival 2024 interns Cleo Corder and Amelia Smith.

Bloombox Festival, formerly Independent Music + Art Festival, is an annual day-long outdoor festival featuring independent local musicians and visual artists. Amazingly, the festival is always planned and coordinated by high school interns.

Bloombox 2024 intern, Amelia Smith

Hello! I’m Amelia Smith, and I am a senior at Herron High School, right down the street from the Harrison Center! I have been given the privilege of interning at the Harrison Center, and now I have been asked to be one of the Bloombox Festival interns. This responsibility will provide me with a space to learn more about the ins and outs of planning an event at a non-profit organization. I’m interested in working for an environmental non-profit after college, so this will be a great way to learn about nonprofits!

Bloombox 2024 intern, Cleo Corder

My name is Cleo Corder. I am a senior at Riverside High School with hopes of pursuing a career in journalism with a focus on art. I have always been intrigued by the perplexing building that is the Harrison Center. When I found out I was selected to intern with them, I pounced at the opportunity. I enjoy writing in all forms and hope to come out of this experience charged with ideas and knowledge to better my craft. After interning with the Harrison Center for some time, I was allowed to become a part of the internship team for Bloombox! Bloombox is a great opportunity for me to focus on my love of writing and music with a focal point on community building.

As the Bloombox interns, we hope to gain hands-on experience in project management and communication. We want to gain experience in project management by coming prepared to present ideas and provide solutions to possible issues. We want to hone in on our communication skills to ensure the smooth flow of the project. Highlighting local artisans and musicians is the center point of the festival we wish to produce. Our goal is to give others a platform and a fun, exciting, and lively 2024 Bloombox Festival.
