Volunteers are essential to the Harrison Center, powering our vibrant events and community initiatives that bring art, culture, and connection to Indianapolis!
From welcoming guests at our monthly First Friday openings to helping with the annual Bloombox Festival, your time and energy make a real difference.
Volunteering at the Harrison Center can count toward service hours for school, work, or personal goals, and it's a great way to meet like-minded creatives, artists, and neighbors.
Every First Friday, join us to celebrate local art! Shifts are available from 5:45-7:30 p.m. and 7:15-9 p.m., with roles including:
Gallery Attendants: Guide visitors, answer questions, and assist with artwork purchases.
Beer and Wine Servers (Indiana serving license required; email us if you need help getting one!).
Greeters: Create warm welcomes and set the tone for an inspiring evening.
No experience needed—we'll train you!
Join us for the annual Bloombox Festival, a celebration of art, music, and community creativity! Help make this all-day event unforgettable; our next one is Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 12:00–8:00 PM. Shifts are flexible throughout the day, with roles including:
Setup and Teardown Crew: Assist with staging, tents, and decorations to get the festival ready or wrapped up.
Beer Sales: Manage our Sun King Brewing beer tent! (Indiana serving license required; email us if you need help getting one!).
Soda Sales: Manage soda and water sales.
Event Support & Hospitality: Support our team wherever needed, including providing hospitality to those in the vendor fair and welcoming festival attendees.
Info Tent: Be the eyes and ears of Bloombox by providing information for festival attendees, volunteers, bands, and artists.
Band Parking Coordinator: Assist Bloombox's bands upon arrival by managing equipment drop off and parking.
Green Room Manager: Help our bands by watching the equipment and managing the break room.
Stagehand: Support bands with pre-show setup and post-show teardown.
