Introducing Hip Hoperetta, Musical History Tours

This summer, interns Sammie Brown and Okara Imani have been hard at work writing, recording and conducting Hip Hoperetta, a collection of musical history tours. Listen here. They began by setting to music the history of the Herron High School campus and the Harrison Center for Arts. Then, using silent disco technology, they led headphone-clad groups around the neighborhood to experience these buildings in a new way. As this body of work grows, tours of some of our city's best-loved architectural gems will be added. Check out the video below to learn more about the pilot phase of this project.
