Meet KEJ Taylor
As the school year commences, Herron High School Senior, Kej Taylor, has brought her jubilant passion for spoken word poetry to the Harrison Center for the Arts. Acting as one of the HCA's newest interns, Kej is taking her passion for working on projects regarding social justice and working towards creating pieces that embody various communities and people in Indianapolis.
After flying under the wing of her mentor, her 8th grade English teacher, she was groomed to sharpen her ability to communicate her ideas. Since then she has been able to travel across Indiana and to bring her craft to national competitions.
Coming from Anderson, Indiana, Kej had the opportunity to move to Indianapolis with her Aunt. The city of Indianapolis gave Kej greater insight into her own abilities with the strong foundation the school system provided her.
