Yoga in Indy – Beyond the Studio
I wear a few different hats in this community - Executive Director of Growing Places Indy, yoga instructor at Invoke Studio, and lululemon athletica Ambassador to name a few. I love how my roles come together and allow me to dream up new ideas that sometimes lead to fun events! Coming up on November 7th, I've worked with lululemon athletica and the Indy yoga community to create Yoga in Indy - Beyond the Studio at the Harrison Center for the Arts, as part of the First Friday festivities. Join us in the gymnasium, where seven local nonprofits will be present, offering complimentary mini-yoga classes (15 minutes each) for all ages from 6-9 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about how each nonprofit incorporates yoga into their mission and action - be it with children and/or adults - elevating our community through their work. There will be other fun activities for all ages (kids are welcome!) - including a photo booth where you can strike your favorite "pose" - as well as snacks and prizes.
In addition, from 5:00-5:50 p.m. I will lead a complementary all-levels vinyasa flow class. No experience is necessary and all ages are welcome. Comfortable, stretchy clothing is recommended, and you are invited to bring your own mat if you have one. There will be a few extra available to borrow.
This is a special pre-gallery opening class, so afterwards you'll be relaxed and revitalized from your day to fully enjoy the wonders of Kyle Ragsdale's story-telling through paintings, and the other art on display at the HCA that night.
