Places In Between by Stephanie Doty
Merging mediums and exploring new materials is thrilling for artist Stephanie Doty. Often intrigued by the materiality of her work, Stephanie enjoys working with a vast array of mediums. This month in the Galley Annex, she presents her work Places in Between. This body of work incorporates painting, textiles, and ceramic and is inspired by the concept of home. Home, often a symbol of comfort and safety, was challenged by the pandemic as it now represented the dichotomy of protection and isolation.

She hopes this show inspires people to ask questions and be curious. Places in Between will be in the Gallery Annex throughout the month of April. Stop by in person or find her work through our online gallery.
City Gallery Porch Swing This bench swing by architect Nick Dodge, drew it's inspiration from the De Stijl furniture designer and architect Gerrit Rietveld's famous Red and Blue Chair. The piece expands the original design allowing it to lift off the ground as a swing. The swing is constructed of a steel frame for stability and incorporates a polished Walnut throughout to soften the places people would touch. The walnut also creates end caps for the hollow steel tubes as a nod to the painted end points on the Red and Blue Chair.
This swing is now for sale on our website. Kairos CEO Scholarship Indianapolis consultancy Kairos is taking a stand to invest in its community’s civic leadership. At their strongest - in images such as the panoramic view of elephants with Mt. Kenya in the distance, the diagonal visual drama of an Alaskan fjord, or the simple elegance of a lone secretary bird - Pulliam's work achieves a balance of spontaneity, selectivity and a sense of the beauty, sometimes majesty, of her subjects. Myrta’s work will be on display in the Hank & Dolly’s Gallery through April 29th. Donate to the Harrison Center |
