Yielding to Nature by Lorie Lee Andrews
This month in City Gallery, Lorie Lee Andrews’ Yielding to Nature welcomes you into an urban oasis. Stunning woodcut block mirroring a contrasting print of its own entices eager eyes. With this body of work, Lorie Lee takes inspiration from a place right here in Indianapolis. This body of work was born out of a commission painting Lorie Lee created for the founder of Wilder Garden, Julia Wilder. Wilder Garden is a forest in the thick of an urban environment that supports over two hundred and fifty tree species. Through various printmaking techniques, Yielding to Nature celebrates a place in Indianapolis and encourages us to appreciate nature.

To purchase tickets for Art Dish and reserve your seats visit our website. Chair Building to Honor Craig Burton There is a sweet and secluded corner of the roof deck at the Harrison Center that will soon be reminiscent of the Burton family front porch.
Craig Burton served on the Harrison Center Board of Directors for thirteen years and tragically passed away last Spring. With funds donated after his death in May 2021, Adirondack chairs will be built and will furnish that sweet and secluded corner of the roof deck.
On Friday, May 6th, (First Friday) in the fashion of previous generations' barn-raisings, you are invited to be present as family and close friends assemble the chairs. Come and help us remember Craig with stories. Come help us honor his memory in that place.
Thank you to the Indiana Housing Community Development Authority’s CreatINg Places program and our generous donors for making this possible.
Does Your Neighborhood Organization 'Porch'?
Indy neighborhoods are porching again! Covid taught us that porching isn't just fun, socializing in the fresh air is healthy too.
