Kyle Ragsdale's newest exhibit, Olly Olly, In Come Free!, is filled with joy and hope, contrasting the innocence of youth in wild natural spaces. Specifically, kids that have grown up on Ragsdale’s block in Fountain Square. Harkening back to Ragsdale’s 2017 exhibit “Other People’s Children,” these are the same kids, but they have grown up. These canvases feature a thicker layered texture, using combs, knives, and trowels to create various abstract patterns and textures that distill into the paintings’ images. Spectacular golden light brings the images into focus.
