One Day Left to Meet Our Goal! |
If you are a last-minute person, your moment has arrived! Fundraising for the Alley Activation project is coming to a close and you can help us reach the goal! If Harrison Center raises $50,000, the IHCDA will provide a matching grant of $50,000, but ONLY if we meet our goal. Tomorrow (August 15th) is the last day and your support is what will put us over the goal.
Over the years, the historic alleyway behind the Harrison Center has "aged"—and not very gracefully. New public art, light installations, repairs, and several themed scavenger hunts will make the alley a place of joy and beauty.
Give now to be part of recreating this alley as a place for neighbors to walk, a place for art activities, and a place for joy by donating before time runs out. |

| Storytelling Drawing Sessions |
Did you know we host weekly "drawing" sessions in the City Gallery? (Really, you can create in whatever medium you prefer.)
Storytelling Drawing Sessions give artists a chance to engage in the stories of long-term residents of Indianapolis. As community members tell their stories, artists are invited to listen, converse, and create. These sessions are free to the public and held weekly on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 in the City Gallery.

As a science illustrator, Nina Grauley brings art and science together through watercolor to celebrate the incredible diversity of edible plants in Indianapolis and encourage people to go out into nature. The works in Hidden in Plain Sight were created during her Artist Residency at the Harrison Center in the Spring of 2023.
Grauley explains, "Paying attention to the particularities of a community - whether it is made up of plants or people- is an act of love."
