Kaleidoscope

Imagination led Benaiah Cusack to explore using new mediums, tools, and techniques for his show Kaleidoscope, currently showing through August in the Gallery Annex.

The kaleidoscope evokes the magical wonder of escaping into your imagination. Looking through the kaleidoscope, twisting the dial, floating bits of colored glass reflect against mirrors and light as you discover the beauty of ever-changing patterns and colors.

Alley Activation Project

You did it!

More than 110 donors helped raise $50,480, which means the Harrison Center will receive a matching $50,000 grant from the IHCDA!

The Alley transformation will continue this fall with new public art and other improvements.

Thank you to all who participated in the Alley Activation with your gifts, sharing the project on social media needs, and being a fan of the Harrison Center.

Meet Katie Ito

Help us in welcoming Katie Ito! She is joining the Harrison Center as an Administrative Art Fellow and is a multidisciplinary artist and chef specializing in pottery, sculpture, and food.

Interested in the possibilities of co-creating in art, Katie considers her work strongest when made in community. In 2023, her senior thesis explored themes of kinship, co-flourishing, hospitality, and liturgy.

Rasheeda's Freedom Day Available at the Library

Rasheeda’s Freedom Day, an original short film from the Harrison Center and Dija Henry of The Blue House, is now a part of the Indianapolis Public Library's catalog.

The film tells the true story of longtime Indianapolis resident and Greatriarch Ms. JoAnna LeNoir. She has spent her life learning that her story is worth sharing and now she’s sharing it with you. As the film shows, a healthy community gives us the courage to share our stories with our neighbors so we can be known and loved.
