For the month of March, the Harrison Gallery is featuring (re)current, Kate Oberreich’s mixed media artwork, including watercolor and acrylic paintings, cyanotype, embroidery, and collage. Symbolism plays an important role in Oberreich’s work. (re)current uses water and house imagery to explore themes surrounding the idea of home and community.

The show can be viewed anytime during the month of March in the Harrison Gallery during Gallery Hours: Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The works can also be viewed and purchased on our online gallery through April.

If you couldn't make it to First Friday or want to take a second look at a piece that caught your eye, you're in luck! All artwork in March's exhibits are now available for purchase online. You can visit the online gallery and browse the collections at your convenience.

Also, no need to worry if you think you missed your chance to purchase artwork from February's exhibits, because you can still browse and purchase in the online gallery.

If you'd rather see these works of art in person, swing by for a tour of March's exhibits during gallery hours: 9 am-5 pm, Monday-Friday.

Private Art Dish

Did you know that you can host your own exclusive Art Dish experience for you and up to 28 of your closest friends?

Each month at Art Dish, local artists and celebrity chefs collaborate to delight your senses with this fine dining experience mixing art and conversation. The gallery is transformed with a fully set table descending from the rafters while lyrical dancers entertain guests.

Meet FoodCon Intern, Amias Edmond

Join us in welcoming Amias Edmond as the intern for this year's FoodCon, an unconventional convention celebrating the art and culture of food in Indiana. He is currently a senior at Herron High School and a neighborhood partner with the Harrison Center. After graduation, Amias plans on attending Indiana University Bloomington as an IU Groups scholar, majoring in Psychology. His ultimate goal is to become a licensed addiction counselor.

"Planning FoodCon will help me further develop the qualities of resourcefulness, connectivity, and adaptability!" - Amias.

March Events at the Harrison Center

Get involved at the Harrison Center this month by joining us at the following events:

Storytelling Drawing Sessions, Every Thursday @ 1:30 pm in the Speck Gallery - As community members tell their stories, artists are invited to listen, converse, and create (in whatever medium they prefer.) These sessions are free to the public and give artists a chance to engage in the stories of long-term residents of Indianapolis. Learn more and register to attend here.
Show & Tell, Wednesday March 20th @ 12 pm in the City Gallery - Show & Tell is a monthly series where our artist community gathers to share about upcoming exhibits, ideas, and inspiration with one another. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by March 19th.
