Having spent years creating murals throughout Indiana, J.D. Bills is returning to the state capital to put on his show, May We All, in the Speck Gallery. His vibrant colors will grace the gallery through the month of May to create a visual culmination of Indiana culture. Learn more on our blog.

| Bloombox Festival⎮Call for Vendors |
Our Bloombox Festival is June 15th, just around the corner. During the festival, vendors peddle their wares. Formerly known as INDIEana Handicraft Exchange and now merged under the Bloombox brand, this contemporary craft fair consciously celebrates modern handmade goods, the relationship between creator and consumer, and local, alternative economies. It highlights local crafters and artisans and exposes Indianapolis to some of the best vendors on the national indie craft fair map.

| Harrison Center to Receive $70,000 Our Town Grant from NEA |
Harrison Center has been awarded a $70,000 Our Town award from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support a new Polk Fellowship program. These creative placemaking grants support projects that integrate arts, culture, and design activities into local efforts to strengthen and authentically engage communities, center equity, advance artful lives, and lay the groundwork for long-term systems change. The Polk Fellowships program will support 24 artists/fellows over a span of two years. They will work with the local community and showcase their work at the Polklore Micro-Museum to preserve culture and integrate new quality-of-life objectives in the Martindale Brightwood neighborhood. |

For the month of May, the Underground Gallery is exhibiting work from 12 artists who spent seven months studying the book of Ecclesiastes from the Hebrew Bible with IUPUI’s Religion, Spirituality, and the Arts program (RSA). Their exhibit includes a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, creative writing, and digital art.
