Indianapolis native Derrick Carter is a mixed-media artist known for his distinctive use of sand, glue, and acrylic paint. By integrating sand with acrylics, Carter carves out a unique creative identity that stands in contrast to traditional contemporary art styles. In this exhibit, Carter pays homage to the figures who have shaped his artistic journey, such as musicians, children, and sports icons, to mention a few.
