Nodal Points Bizarre instruments, mysterious sheet music, mushrooms growing from blocks— the question on everyone's mind is, "What is going on in the Speck gallery?" Gabrielle Cerberville, Rob Funkhouser, and William Peacock are artist-musicians who created Nodal Points. This sound-art exhibit invites the viewer to see, hear, touch, and play the objects in the show. On the opening night, visitors were also treated with a live performance from new music ensemble "Forward Motion." Read more about this exhibit here. At the Fair Harrison Center artist residencies take many forms, and this weekend was no exception. Musician, Jeremiah Ince, from Washington DC, came to town to partake in a local tradition: the Indiana State Fair. For his 48 hour residency, he wrote and produced a song reflecting the energy and enjoyment of the occasion, titled "At the Fair."  48 hour internships are chances for artists, especially those from out of town, to see and respond to Indianapolis in ways that are creative and totally unique. Architecture of Light Tai Lipan's Architecture of Light reveals abstract scenes of weather, light, and landscape. Her approach of using layered wood and flashe paint on panel makes each of these pieces feel somewhere between painting and sculpture. Lift Gallery With a fresh design and a new name, the Lift Gallery, conveniently located by the karaoke elevator, is breathing new life. The space features new work by Harrison Center artist Shaunt'e Lewis. Come check out the updated space and enjoy Lewis's show Lotus: The Year of Transformation on display this month. Humble/Kind Last year, Pascal Glock, a previous Harrison Center artist-in-residence, wrote a song called Humble/Kind about catalpa trees and the humans that are like them.
