Annual Window Walk.

BookTok Window Walk opens with voting on Friday, November 1st, from 6-9 pm.

The displays will be up through February 17th.

Details for this year’s application process are below. 

Location: Street level windows, Harrison Center, 1505 N. Delaware Street.

They face N Delaware St, 16th Street, and our back parking lot.

Selection Criteria: Designs will be selected based upon aesthetic design, visual impact on pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and appropriateness of content (should be appropriate for all audiences). To be considered, entries must incorporate lights. The more the better!

Compensation: Selected artists will receive $100 per window installation. An additional $50 will be paid if the display is completed AND approved by October 30th.

Juried:  1st ($500), 2nd ($250), and 3rd ($100) place prizes will be awarded on November 1st, First Friday.

Popular Vote: Winner receives $100. Voting takes place on November 1st, First Friday 6-9pm

 

Timeline: 

Deadline for concept entries: Sunday, October 6th by 11:59 PM

Artists will be notified of selection: Friday, October 11th.

Window installation begins: Monday, October 21st - 25th   (to be scheduled with the administrator)

Must be completed: Wednesday, October 25th by 5 PM

Opening Window Walk: Friday, November 1st, 6-9 PM

Window deinstallation begins: Monday, February 17th (to be scheduled with the administrator)

De-installation week : February 17th - 21st  (to be scheduled with the administrator)




Application instructions:  Please give a written description of your concept and attach a mock-up (sketch, photo, computer-generated image) of your window installation with as much detail as possible. 

Windows range in size from approximately 39” x 36” x 34” to 55” x 36” x 14”.  

Power strips & light timers will be provided to each window, but artists must provide their own lights and should incorporate light into the design for the window.

No battery-powered or solar-powered lights.

No spray snow on the glass.

No food or perishable items.

Absolutely No Glitter.


Upon Acceptance:

Please bring your own tools.

We will provide a ladder to access the display window.

Windows can be quite high depending where in the building.

We recommending coming in to measure and photograph your window before building your display.
