New Kid on the Block
This month in the City Gallery, artist Kyle Ragsdale has a new show opening and it's all about neighbors. Ragsdale took inspiration from his own friends and neighbors on Pleasant Street in the Fountain Square neighborhood–particularly a new kid on the block who is always running around looking for kids to play with. The neighboring kids are always eager to oblige.
New Kid Runs Fast
These paintings reflect a deep sense of community. Scenes of people picnicking in backyards, playing games in a living room and hanging out on the front porch (#porchpartyindy) remind us of what neighboring is all about. In celebration of place, Kyle has painted the spring and summer fun that happens in his neighborhood in Fountain Square and the Bates Hendricks community just around the corner.
Emily's Porch
Kyle's new work will hang in the City Gallery for the month of July and opens this Friday, July 7th 6-9pm.
