The Thirsty Scholar: Redefining Indy Nightlife

Let me begin by saying that, aside from being closed on Mondays when I need them most, the Thirsty Scholar is doing everything right. Refined, and yet accessible, the Thirsty Scholar is continually showing our city that a night out on the town is more than knocking back a few cold ones, slow-as-Christmas pedal bars, and trap music at the nightclub. Above all else, the northeast corner of the Penn Arts building is a beacon of cultural light in Indy’s urban nightlife that continues to grow with intensity. CFdOqLTy0AIpfl

“In what ways is it growing?” you may ask. Two words. Local. Music. While the Thirsty Scholar has been providing Indy with a craft coffee, local beer, and fine wine-induced ambiance at the north end of the historic Old Northside neighborhood since 2013, as of late they have been gaining traction as a premier local music/spoken word poetry venue. And, my friends, the tunes and the prose are flowing.

As the growing cultural appeal of the 16th Street corridor continues to captivate Indy’s urban neighborhoods, and as the spring beckons you outside, go and grab a twilight coffee (or a craft beer if that’s your thing) and take in the sights and sounds of the Thirsty Scholar. We think you’ll be glad you did.
