"Why I love my school"
I moved to Indianapolis from a big city on the outskirts of Los Angeles, California. My old school was called Hart High School, and it was one of those classic high schools you see portrayed in a television show or in a movie (think Saved by the Bell). Hart High had all the stereotypical cliques—you had your popular kids, your smart kids, and just about every other group you can imagine.
When I enrolled at Herron High School last fall, I wasn’t that thrilled with the idea of attending a school with only 700 students (especially after attending a school with over 2,000 students). But after giving it a shot, I came to realize that it was the best thing that has ever happened to me.
You see Herron is a special place. One of the many reason it’s so special has to do with the people. On my first day of school I thought that maybe the reason everyone was so friendly was because I was from California, but it turns out it was simply because everyone is just so welcoming! I’ve honestly never met such a friendly group of people.
The students at Herron are so amazing, and the teachers actually care about you and want to see you succeed. I’ve also found that Herron’s academics are outstanding and are truly preparing me for college.
Herron High is an amazing school, and I couldn’t be happier with where I get to spend eight hours five days a week!
