It's almost time for Bloombox! Join us for one of Indy's most beloved music festivals. This Saturday beginning at noon, Bloombox will take off outside the doors of the Harrison Center. Bloombox highlights local musicians, with ten different acts performing throughout the day—not to mention the many vendors from the Indieana Handicraft Exchange. There will be food trucks, activities, and good music all day.
Abi Ogle is known for contributing a lot to the Indy arts community, like creating the first ever Greatriarch portraits, which are visible along 16th street. Now, along with former professor and collaborator Kayb Joseph, we're invited into a world of unseen realities: pins, needles, grapefruit skins, and more. Watch the video above to hear firsthand from Kayb Joseph and Abi Ogle as they speak about their new exhibit Braille, currently on display in the Harrison Center's Speck Gallery.
See the Work of Mailinh Hô
Contemporary, tongue-in-cheek, and most of all, wicked smart—this is how one would describe the work of Malinh Hô. Her portraits reference pop culture, cinema, the wild west, and more. Schedule a tour to see her new show Mudskipper, in the Harrison Center today, or browse the work in our online gallery.
As we buckle up for our summer music festival, now is a great time to get to know one our Bloombox coordinators. Taylor Solomon has interned for the Harrison Center in the past, but this summer, she has been reaching out to musicians, coordinating vendors, and being a point person for all of the exciting talent that will be taking the Bloombox stage on the 17th.
Get to know more about Taylor by reading her intern blog here.
