This October, the Harrison Center’s Lift Gallery is proud to showcase the stunning work of Esayas Zerazion, an artist who transforms the traditional scratchboard technique into a profound exploration of light, shadow, and texture. Scratchboard, or scraperboard, involves meticulously scratching away dark ink to reveal a white underlayer, creating luminous highlights that bring subjects to life with extraordinary detail.

Applications are open through October 31st for the Winter Artisan Market (formerly INDIEana Handicraft Exchange) on First Friday, December 6th from 6-9 PM.
For more than 15 years, this event has brought the finest in modern craft to Indianapolis. December's First Friday event at the Harrison Center welcomes more than 1000 visitors who will browse artisan vendor booths in the historic gymnasium.

Join Sampson Levingston of Through2Eyes in Martindale-Brightwood for a FREE Lunch and Learn (bring your own lunch) on Thursday, October 17th from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm at the Polklore Micro-Museum. Polklore is located in COhatchPolk Stables, 1533 Lewis Street.
This event will involve a lot less walking and a little more talking than his famous Walk & Talks. It will include 45 - 60-minute presentations on the history of the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood and the historic Polk Sanitary Milk Company. This Third Thursday series will continue through December. |

Her multicultural background, spanning West Africa and Indonesia, and a rich tapestry of Filipino-Chinese Afghan-Russian heritage shapes her artistic lens.Her work delves into the complexities of gender and faith, mainly through the lens of colonization's erasure of South Asian women's voices in art and theology.
